  • Got to go back to our favorite restaurant around this past weekend and it did not disappoint. We have been here 6 or 7 times and leave wowed each time. We have only done the degustation menu once, the first time we went. It was just too much food and since then have seemed to settle in on the 4 course option (2 apps, 1 entree, 1 dessert). This meal they started with two amuse bouches which was a pleasant surprise since in the past I can only remember one. The first one I missed what it was. It was breaded and extremely rich bite. The second amuse was a chilled corn soup with creme fraiche and caviar. The last few times we have had a similar amuse, with it being a gazpacho since we have usually been there during the summer. They have a bread cart with 30 different options to choose between. The chooses have been the same over each of our visits which isn't a problem since they are all good and there are so many. Keep in mind that they only warm the first set of bread you get, after that it will be straight from the cart. I usually stick to the warm appetizers but this time I started with chicken egg filled with king crab and caviar. Wife went with the pumpkin veloutte with alba white truffles. Both were spectacular. From there we both had the truffled langostines. This is 3 langostine raviolis filled and topped with truffle in a foie gras butter emulsion. This is my single favorite dish I have had at any restaurant. There hasn't been a time we have gone to Robuchon's and not ordered this. We matched again on dishes with the entree, both selecting the spit roasted duck. We may have just not been paying attention but we couldn't remember ever seeing duck as an option before on our previous visits. This was a good rendition. We have had some absolute standout versions at other places like EMP that would put above this one. We ended with dessert this time. Wife went for the chocolate souffle. I did a tayberry coulis. Wife thought this was the best souffle she has had. I very much liked my dessert too, as it was light and beautifully plated. Hint, you can substitute the cheese trolley for the dessert which is what we normally do since you will get plenty of sweets with the dessert cart. Speaking of dessert cart, this is something that is a true standout. The mignardises are fantastic. They have 40+ different options. Can't say enough about this place. It is a special dinner place where you are going to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Go into this expecting to leave a little poorer but you should leave really satisfied on the quality of food.
