My husband called to schedule a consultation for a vesectomy-we have 4 kids. Our insurance had them listed as a covered in-network provider. The staff was unfriendly and not helpful with re: to his questions about the cost of the procedure and what they would bill our insurance. After his 2 minute consultation with Dr. Blunt, they said he was cleared to schedule his vasectomy and that the consult was good for one year. We received a bill for $250 for the 2 min consult. When we called to question whether this amount would just count toward the cost of the procedure, they said that it was only for the consult and not covered by insurance-NOW they have the info! We found a doctor in Scottsdale that will do the procedure same-day and they told us exactly how much our insurance will be billed which is a fraction of what these guys charge - we will end up paying about $50 total. Do your research and if they don't treat you right on the phone, don't take any chances!
