Absolutely terrible shop. Typical rip off scam artists. AND THEY COULDA KILLED ME OR SOMEONE ELSE!!! Here's what happened.
I usually do my pad and shoe changes myself but took it here since they were offering a deal on $100 friction re-line. Tech pulled my rotors but said he couldn't cut them. And I needed to buy new rotors. Even tho a new cut wouldn't take the rotor below the factory recommended minimum thickness, but because their company policy won't let them cut them at a certain point for "safety" reasons. Um sorry I'll trust the manufacturing company before you guys.
THEN!!!! The sales manager pulled one of the wheel cylinders on the rear brakes to inspect it. They said the wheel cylinder was leaking and needed to be replaced. While there was some extremely minor seepage coming from the inner seal of the cylinder the outer seal was dry as a bone. Clearly they didn't NEED to be replaced. Just trying to sell me on parts I didn't necessarily need! Told them to put my wheels back on and I'd pay them for the pads and shoes and wanted to leave. They did put my car back together. But upon pulling the rear wheel cylinder and introducing air into the brake system and they never bled the system!
So when I go to get in the car and leave after about two pushes of the brake pedal it went strait to the floor and I had to pull the emergency brake to stop!!! Thank god even tho I was a bit annoyed and pissed off I was only going 5-10 mph in the parking lot and didn't punch the throttle of my '89 Iroc Camaro and leave them in a cloud of smoke! Lol.
I go back in to the shop... Now I'm fuming! And explain their errors. Explain they could of almost killed someone and I have half a mind to file a formal complaint with the State of Nevada's garage compliance enforcement division. That got their attention. Now they are apologizing and offering me free services. Umm no thank you. So I tell them they need to bring the car back in the shop and bleed the brake system. So the tech gets in the car and starts it to drive it into the shop!!! Um nooooo! There's no friggen brakes. Get your goons and push it into the shop!
