I recently made the mistake of buying a car with one key. My wife called me and said that she lost her key. Yikes! I called Schumacher and talked to this guy about getting another key. He said no problem, and said you need to bring in the registration and a photo id along with your car. I said I don't have a key. He said then you should tow it in. That little exchange didn't sit very well with me. I guess I'm wondering why they need the car when you buy a spare key. After all, I can bring the key to my stationary car and test the key. If it doesn't work, I can inform the dealership. So I'm not really enjoying the customer service aspect of the dealership at this moment in time. I own several Mercedes Benz cars but was forced to go to the dealership since that's the only way you can get a key.
Fortunately, my wife found her original key several hours later. When we picked up the new key, Schumacher personnel tested it out and said he's never ordered a key that didn't work. No kidding!
