  • Still feel an excited buzz when I think about it - Rob & I went for the 'How to Make a Monster' exhibit which wasn't exactly as I expected, but still really cool (I thought we'd literally be building an animatronic creature but they were already made and on display). Anyways when I think back I kind of wish we had come on one of the Adults Only nights instead. Even though we made an effort to be there early in the day, they still close at 5pm so I felt rushed to do everything and really didn't want to have to leave - especially since we had spent a long, awkward walk from the train station. I thought it would be closer to the Calgary Zoo station going by how they advertised. It is $5 for parking but I would say it's worth it if you plan to spend a day there. It is disappointing that the Dome Show is not included in the general admission ($20). The other reason I would've liked to have come on Adults Night is because when we were in the main hall upstairs, some exhibits were impossible to get to due to a queue of little ones in front of us waiting their turn. I didn't get to paint with light, but there were some exhibits we were really lucky to discover, such as the one that takes your 'emotional' photos in the Being Human exhibit, and some of the others such as the chalkboard stop-motion animation which we utilized, and leaving our email address means we have a copy of the video lol. As per food, there is a simple cafeteria on the 2nd level, but they are not cheap and when we tried to order a smoothie the woman behind the counter said they ran out of ingredients, so then we tried to order another beverage and she again said they didn't have it. I would recommend stocking right up since they can get busy there. We finally got some bottled pop and shared some hotdogs & fries. A big part of me would like to go again in future and check out my fave exhibits again, but not from the train station. Show up early and bring lots of cash for the day, too. Enjoy :)
