| - Why, oh WHY does this place only have 3 1/2 stars?? We decided to visit our family in Vegas last weekend (Apr 3-5) and scurried to find a room last minute. The sole reason we booked this place was because it was a great price on such short notice. I also really liked the fact that there was a separate sitting area with a sofa bed. I skimmed through the reviews and booked it (same-day). On our way there, I read through the reviews more thoroughly, and seriously started to panic. Most of them were horrible and many complained about the hotel's condition. I was especially worried because this was my first big trip away from home with my 1 year old. At that point I wanted to cancel, but I knew I couldn't. I thought, oh well ... I'll just have to wait and see. I was nervous the entire way there.
With that said, I learned one thing on this trip - some people are SO unreasonably picky!! The hotel was WONDERFUL. I mean, it's no Mandalay Bay, but do people seriously expect those types of accommodations?! It worked wonders for my little family and I, and here's why:
-SUPER budget friendly!
-Parking is really close to most entrances, therefore, no long walk to an elevator, then through a stinky, cigarette smoke filled casino!
-Didn't reek of cigarette smoke!
-Rooms come with a microwave, fridge, sink, small dining table, and separate sleeping area. GREAT for families!
-Very close to the strip!
But what I loved most ... FREE BREAKFAST! And not just regular old breakfast, hot, yummy, made-to-order breakfast. The omelets were delicious! They also had pastries, cold cereals, coffee, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, french toast, sausage, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, and more!! I woke up early every day we were there just to enjoy the breakfast.
I tried their room service ... it was just OK.
The room was clean enough, my only complaint would be that they didn't clean the room very well during our stay. There was still trash left on the table, and on the floor, but they restocked our toiletries, towels, etc. Also, the both times I tried calling guest services it took forever for someone to answer the phone. One time I gave up and hung up. Not enough for me to subtract a star over.
Highly recommend for families with young children!
