I am so glad I found this place!
A tad north of Mortimer and Pape lies this little gem, you seriously cannot miss the fresh smell of pastries. Especially in the summer when they open the windows and the aroma of those danishes displayed in the front was so good that my mouth was watering.
Inside the pastry shop is brimmed with pastries including their signature danishes, cookies, lady fingers to a number of sandwiches, pies and cakes. Also they have these weird candies next to the drinks.
They have a lunch special that includes a choice of a sandwich, soda (water or juice plus extra) and pastry for $5.50! (plus tax) I cannot stress how cheap it is considering downtown and its always tastes fresh and delicious everytime I go there.
I had the turkey croissant sandwich which was delicious. The croissant was flaky and soft and the turkey ham isn't even close to store brought. For the pastry, I got a custard danish and it too was flaky, moist and just mouth-watering good. The custard was something I never tasted before and since I'm Chinese, I often eat those custard buns and even those aren't delicious and consistent as these ones!
The service is always attentive and friendly and I always felt welcomed here.
Sadly not much people know about this place and the times that I went here around lunch or so, there wasn't much of a line-up. Danish Pastry Shop! Glad to have you here, I would not be able to survive lunch if it wasn't you!
