  • This resort is nothing like the Las Vegas strip. When you come here it feels like you've left Vegas and transcended to another world more like Palm Springs, Hawaii, etc. It is a nice and relaxing resort. There are 2 main pools. The upper pool had an issue with the heating system so the water was really cold. The lower pool is more for kids and it's nice. There is also a 3rd toddler pool. From the lower pool you can walk out to the "beach" which is along the lake. The water here doesn't look very clean to me as it looks stagnant so I wouldn't swim in there. However, you can rent kayaks and stuff like that (free) so many people were doing that. The service is nice and what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. For SPG Gold and Platinum members there is a separate room where you can check in and get front desk service (in addition to drinks and some pastries in the morning). The only minor gripe is that this desk was not staffed most of the time that I was there so I had to stand in the regular line with all of the riff raff... If you're sick of the Vegas strip scene, this is a nice alternative. However, I will confess that one night I did get the itch to go hit the blackjack tables so I made the drive to the strip. With no traffic it is around a 20 minute drive. With some traffic it's more like 45 minutes. I recommend that you rent a car because a taxi/uber will be very expensive (I would guess in the $65-$100 range to get here from the strip).
