| - First off, L C.'s review is obviously fake. Anyone with half a brain that reads these reviews can spot that one in half a second. What a bunch of crap!
Secondly, Allen Properties is a RIP OFF!! Just an fyi, for anyone who unfortunately has to deal with them, GOOD LUCK! They do have lovely properties, but they will take you for every cent you have. Kathy is one of the rudest people I have come across. She has no idea what customer service is. Rhonda, however, is rather helpful. Overall, I did not have any problems with Rhonda at all and she would answer calls and try to help with what she could. Kathy could give half a damn and she is the manager. Rhonda is one of the agents. Their head of "maintenance" is probably the biggest jerk of them all. He doesn't answer the phone 90% of the time and when he does, he'll just tell you that he'll call you back. Our screen door broke during a storm and he had the nerve to accuse me of braking it and just trying to get them to pay for it! I was so angry! Eventually they did have someone come out, agreed that it was the storm and replaced it with a screen that didn't even fit the door!
Finally the house was not in good shape when we received it. The blinds were broken, the grout was dirty, light fixtures were hanging, they didn't even know whether or not we had trash cans! However, when we moved out they had no problems charging us for those same things, the broken blinds, the dirty grout (that we could never get clean), the trash cans (that they didn't know existed), and paint they said didn't match (but they said was for the house and had left in the garage when we moved in!!). They charged near $1,000.00. Now while I am well aware that most property management companies are rather terrible, I was particularly upset when our "itemized" letter of charges arrived today...11 days late...because they are so incompetent when they mailed it the first time, they sent it to the wrong address and it was returned. They didn't contact us, even though they had our phone number, but finally realized their error and mailed to the correct address.
If you end of living in one of their houses...itemize every single thing you have when you arrive there. Take photos of everything....and I do mean everything! Think of it as evidence for these idiots! And do not move out until they do a full inspection with you right there with them. That is our fault, but we had to leave the state. I'll just make sure that I'll continue to get the word out about these complete jerk-offs!
