I had been using the Sephora as Southpark Mall for make-up appointments for years for models I shoot. Pretty much always happy. Never truly disappointed.
In Southpark, I would have the model show them a photo, tell them it's for a model photoshoot and they would hit the mark.
Today was the first chance I had a model try the Northlake location. She lived down the road and it was convenient. She booked the make-up appointment a few days ago, putting in the notes that this was for a modeling photoshoot.
Well, she arrived for her appointment, and when she showed the photo to the make-up artist, it was reacted with "can't do that." No real compromise. She complained about being short-handed and that she could "do her foundation" only. What? For $50 foundation? For $50, the Southpark Mall never complained, and always hit the mark.
The model left because foundation wasn't what she made an appointment for. My model had her hair done and no make-up for a scheduled shoot. The shoot was cancelled, me as a photographer and a wardrobe person's time had been wasted. Her hair was already paid for.
Sephora at Northlake is crap. They burned a good opportunity for continued business. Because of the disrespect the model received, I am debating if I should discontinue all my business with all locations.
