| - I won't be going back. With that said, the service was excellent, it's clean, brightly lit, and freshly painted.
My order wasn't right and it wasn't complicated. I ordered a falafel platter no tomato and a gyro sandwich, no onion. It was $18.13. The food was extremely expensive for what I got in comparison to other Mediterranean spots in the area.
The gyro was $6.49 and the falafel platter was $9.99. Let's start with the gyro. It had onions. And the size of the gyro was tiny. I'm a girl and by no means gigantic. It was barely larger than my one hand.
The falafel platter had 5 smaller than average falafel nuggets, one Pita, literally a hand full of salad. For $10. The falafel tasted frozen, not home made. I make home made all the time. Even Manischewicz' falafel mix has more texture. And there was tomato all over the salad and one little olive on top of ice berg. There was no onion and two slices of cucumber. I asked for condiments on the side as my order was to go. I received half of one Dixie cup of tzatziki and even less salad dressing.
Zorba's, only 5 minutes away, has a large, decent gyro for $5 and falafel sandwich for $4. At Pita Jungle, two locations within 5 minutes each, have similarly priced food but the quality is good and the portions are much larger.
According to the menu, gyro is $6.49 and a side salad can be added to any sandwich for $2.75. The gyro platter is exactly the same thing but costs $9.99. Huhh?
There are signs up all over this place asking for reviews on yelp, so here it is. I have no reason to go back when they're is better, less expensive food of the same variety right down the street in all directions. Not to mention parking is sketchy with the sports bar nextdoor.
I'd be happy to post pictures.
