SAFETY CONCERN. There are ZERO excuses for allowing a 10 year old to climb 20+ feet up a rock wall without being strapped into a safety rope. ZERO. But that is what happened today.
My son does not have much (if any) experience with rock walls. He was put into the garb and told to go. When he was at the top of the wall (20+ feet!) staff finally noticed that they "forgot" to attach the safety rope. Needless to say he was very scared when he stopped at the top and realized the safety rope was not attached. The manager climbed to the top to connect the safety rope.
How does this happen? How is this business allowed to have children climb a 20+ foot rock wall without the proper safety checks?
When my wife spoke to the manager, he acted as if it were no big deal. He stated that the employees were "new" and they would be talked to.
Consider yourself warned.
Update: I called the main office and asked that they give me a call back so I could figure out what happened and what was being done to stop this from ever happening again. I had to leave a message. Nobody ever called me back.
