rev:text	If I don't count the food truck I visited one day for lunch, then this is probably the best BBQ I had in a week of being in South Carolina (plus this one evening in Charlotte). I am sustained by eastern North Carolina BBQ (it's at the bottom of my personal Maslow's hierarchy, just below wifi) so I had to try even though I know this isn't that part of the country. We started with pimento cheese fries, because, well, pimento cheese fries. These were broiled before being served, and they were totally delicious. Zero complaints here - nice browned cheese (and plenty of it) and nice crisp fries. Good stuff. Then we split the burnt ends and the chopped pork. Burnt ends were almost like...ham cubes, I've never had burnt ends in this kind of a regular shape. But they were in a good sauce, even if my normal preference isn't sweet BBQ sauce, and they were tender and tasty. So I'm not going to complain about those. And the chopped pork was decent - reasonable amount of smoke if not a bit dry, but I fixed the dry problem with their vinegar sauce, which I liked. For sides, we went with collards and cole slaw, both of which were fine. Greens were trending a bit sweet, but that's OK, without a ton of garlic. Slaw was fairly basic, nothing really to write home about. So, tons of good reviews here, I feel like I am bucking the trend. It's not bad, it's just not exceptional. Our service was good, the price was totally reasonable, and the food was fine...I just have to believe there are better options. Alas, it was a Sunday night and several of the more hole in the wall places with photos of food that made my mouth water were closed.
