| - I've been getting my hair cut here for about 3 years. I tried Mood Swings, Altered Ego, Urban Hair, and some other random place in Central Phoenix I had a discount from Java Magazine for that I cannot find at all.
Want to know what most places do? A) Straighten my thick, wavy hair. B) Razor the shit out of it. C) Run out of dye half-way through even though I warn them they'll need two bowls D) Ask me about stupid shit.
Seriously. I am actually an open to ideas kind of lady, I just have some basic criteria: don't prattle endlessly, work in a collaberative manner about what I'm lookin for it and how it will work with my hair, accept that it is wavy and don't blow it out just so it looks sleek and impressive then look like shit when I roll out of bed 3 days later.
Feliz is my man. I have been seeing him based on a reference that he truly understands how to cut hair and is an artist about it. He understands my baby cowlick, my birthmark, my inability to spend more than 20 minutes working on my hair on the morning, truly knows how to explain product, spends up to an hour perfecting my cut with scissors (not razors), and I trail with compliments for several months. I often let it grow out b/c I am excited about what the cut is doing- he makes my hair living, breathing, and fun again. He knows tons about music, fashion, television, movies, cars, traveling and is a pure joy to talk to and relate to. I always grab a coffee from Nordstroms and settle in knowing I will be taken care of.
His rate is from 40-60, and I always tip well since I don't have to see him that frequently.
I truly have no idea what warrants such animosity among the other clients of this store; I've had a few mishaps (wrong date scheduled, no one told him i was running late) and I'm not crazy about all the salon smell, but that is a small snafu considering all the suffering I've had in Arizona searching for my hair mate.
