| - Cars and Cuttlefish, a good match right?
Spent the past Saturday afternoon at Barrett Jackson's auction with another couple and to Cuttlefish for dinner right after. After the mosh-pit that BJ's is we were glad to enter the nice confines of Cuttlefish. Entry there drops you in front of their oyster bar that has Vespa scooters for seats, how appropriate it that!
This was our first time there and looked forward to great experience. Our waiter Geno was welcoming and informative. The four of us started out with a bottle of cabernet (Sexual Chocolate) a dozen oysters and crispy cuttlefish. Both items were delicious, the oysters were fresh and the cuttlefish was crispy. The down side; these were the smallest oysters I've seen in a long time they would fit under a quarter, crispy cuttlefish, hum, looked and tasted like calamari (very sure it was). Our entrees included grilled salmon, their version of cioppino, and mascarpone/lobster/crab wrap call Favolianinai or something close to that spelling. The salmon was amazing, grilled to perfection, the cioppino likewise was wonderful. As for the Favolianinai dish, the lobster and crab was MIA, very disappointing, cheesy bland.
We ordered desert that included their award winning bread pudding w/salted carmel ice cream and tiramisu. Both were delicious with a shout out for the bread pudding, it truly is amazing. Dinner was expensive and had highs and lows with the food, the service was good. One of those restaurants where a few visits are needed to fully appreciate the menu standouts. Enjoy.
