| - The thing about fine dining establishments is that there's a heck of a chance you'll leave without having had your fill, so you're encouraged to empty your wallet even more for all the trimmings.
Don't make that mistake at Delmonico Steakhouse, even if everything looks and is delicious.
Almost everything at Emeril's restaurant here is sharable. I was here for a couple friends' birthdays, and everybody at my table ordered one appetizer to go with the steaks we ordered. As good as everything was, we just ended up staring at our food 20 minutes after being served.
As for the food, as I stated, it's all terrific. The complimentary bread is some of the best I've ever had. They're delicate to the touch, and when you bite into it, the texture is flakier than a croissant. I didn't even know that was possible with a roll.
I had the lobster bisque as an appetizer, which was creamy and some decent chunks of lobster in it. For the record, I actually finished it. Another person at our table ordered the seafood tower which is something you should get on a big baller budget, but everything from the oysters, to the lobster, and crab claws were scrumptious. The country smashed potatoes, sauteed garlic mushrooms, truffle parmesan potato chips, and duck fat fingerling potatoes? All amazing.
Now, the steak. Most of them are dry-aged, so we're talking $$$ here, but like my fellow Yelper Ferdinand L. said, do not attempt to have a steak without the foie gras on top. If you've never had foie gras before, this is the time to do it. The result is something you'll simply salivate over.
Now it wasn't the best steak I ever had, but it was one of those situations where after eating here, I know most things after will be a disappointment, so choose your next meal wisely. My whole table had the meat stares, and only one person at the table finished their entree.
Just a great dining experience.
