| - Located at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, southeast from Place Ville Marie, Marché Artisan is a gourmet market and high-end food court, combined. The space was well lit and combined a bright white interior with wood and stainless steel accents. There were several communal/ bar eating areas. At one entrance, there are tempting trays of flaky breakfast pastries and coffee options. Charcuterie, fresh juices, produce, maple syrup, artisanal pasta, aged olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and meats are also displayed throughout the market, to name a few. Shoppers can sample cheeses, enjoy a salumi tray, or watch the creation of marvelous chocolate truffles or desserts. As well, you can purchase aprons, kitchen towels, cutting boards and other kitchen items in this market.
Throughout the market are areas to enjoy well-prepared meals. Originally, a friend and I tentatively planned to meet up for coffee and breakfast, but plans fell through. Okay, I was not interested waking up so early. I do that all too often for work and was not prepared to do so while on vacation. Instead, we dropped by for a mid-day snack, Kaos French pastry, espresso, and juice. The delectable dessert featured dark chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache, and pearls.
Everyone was beyond helpful and pleasant. Be prepared, though, for the gourmet price points.
