  • This review will be based on everything that I encountered during my stay at New York New York. I will focus on the rooms, restaurants, slot play, table games, M Life desk service, front desk service, and much more. Front desk- I checked in at 2am, and the person who helped was not in the least bit happy. It was clear he did not enjoy his job, and he would rather be doing a thousand other things, than to help me check into my room. I asked him if he had any complimentary upgrades available. Most helpful people I have encountered before have upgraded me, or at least attempted to upgrade me in any way. He immediately shot me down, saying I would be lucky if I were to get a room right now. What an ass hole. He checked his system and seemed surprised that he found a room for me, like he had to do more than just scroll through the computer and magically find an empty room. The room was nice, but there was definitely no wow factor. The view from the window consisted of pipes and ventilation systems equipment. The room reminded me of Luxor rooms, which were dark and had no natural light. However, the bathroom was modern and clean. There are quite a bit of restaurants located on the casino floor. I dined at two, and overall was not satisfied. (See my reviews on Il Fornaio bakery and Nine Fine Irishmen) One lacked quality foods, while the other lacked good service. The slots at New York New York were on the tighter end. For looser slots, I would head over to MGM or Monte Carlo. The selection of slots were also less than that of other neighboring casinos. No one seemed to be winning much here. The table games were good. Everyone that sat down with me at the blackjack tables knew what they were doing. The dealers were friendly, and quick in knowing how to count to 21. (You won't believe how slow some dealers are elsewhere). The only downside to the tables were the lack of attention from the pit bosses. I would throw in my card countless times to get rated, and they would come by ten minutes after I had started playing. The service that I received at the M Life desk was disappointing. No matter what time of day it was, the line was so long. Redeeming myvegas rewards took an incredible amount of time, and definitely slowed the line for everyone. If my rooms weren't free, I would not stay here. New York New York is in the middle of The Strip, and you just simply cannot beat that.
