| - This salon has a great front desk staff, is very clean and everyone is nice and professional. I have naturally curly hair and have been going to a place for the past few years that did a great job on my hair. This place taught me how to manage my curls, so I am familiar with the DevaCurl routine. I moved to the other side of the valley, and decided that I wanted to find a salon closer to my place. Service at my old salon is not as good as it used to be. They didn't do such a great job on the cut the last time I visited. So I did a Google search and I came across this place. I was interested when I saw on their website they do DevaCuts. I reached out for an appointment and was given a choice of several times and stylists. I should have paid attention to the stylist and chosen Suellen given all of the positive reviews on the site, but I did not.
Instead I walked out of the salon with my hair looking worse than when I went in. The stylist I worked with didn't seem to understand that you really don't cut curly hair wet, it must be cut dry. She did both a wet and dry cut, and while the cut isn't so bad, the styling was just awful. Her assistant started to use a brush on my hair when it was wet. You never brush curly hair. Ever.
Salon Estique has a great return policy, if you are not satisfied with your cut you can come back within two weeks and they will fix it. I will take a closer examination of the cut, because it doesn't seem too bad, and decide if I really need to come back. If I do, it will be with Suellen.
