| - Came in for a comprehensive exam. The office staff was friendly enough, I didn't have to wait long, and I actually really liked the doctor. It all started out well enough, until I paid for my exam... and they wouldn't release my prescription. They said they had to order me a trial pair of contact lenses first, and then I had to come back in for a contact lens fitting, which was going to cost me... wait for it... 166 dollars, but "with my insurance it would only be $106." WHAT?! I thought this was ridiculous, so I left and decided to find another provider who would do a cheaper fitting. Come to find out, the fact that they wouldn't release my prescription after I paid for my exam is actually ILLEGAL according to FTC guidelines. I went to another provider for the contact lens exam, and Desert Vision would not release my prescription to them, either. I guess they thought I would just come running back to them with flowers. These people are all smoke and mirrors, and they know that the average consumer does not question as much as they should. DO NOT GO HERE!
