| - Want to be in the middle of the strip on a budget, and willing to sacrifice a few things? This is probably the spot for you.
As a previous guest of other properties in the Caesars family, I was able to book a room here at a heavily discounted price of $43. My expectations were pretty low here, and a few aspects of the hotel were pleasant surprises, and others were more less an expected disappointment.
The Linq has an automated self check in, which is both simple and easy, and more annoyingly difficult than it should have been. Scanning my ID and credit card took multiple attempts before the machine could read them correctly (and when I say multiple I mean a ton, but I couldn't be bothered to wait in line), but once it did, printed out directions and keys were shot out of the machine; piece of cake.
By happy chance, we ended up in a much larger room than expected, that had a separate sitting area from the room with couches, chairs, and a second 50 inch tv. The cons of the room? Our view was basically eye level to the roof with views of mounted AC units. The room itself has been recently redone and is modern, with some relics of the past (i.e. The AC unit mounted in the wall) to remind you this hotel had a facelift but is still an older building.
The pool... man, someone needs to reevaluate the mentality here. They have a DJ and blast the club music, except no one is partying in the pool. People were basically laying around hanging out, not wanting a pool party. It's like they threw a party and invited the wrong crowd. I'd say I felt bad for the DJ, but it's not his fault the party forgot to show up.
Overall, if you are on a budget and location is your priority, you'll be happy here. The rooms are surprisingly nicer than the price and location would dictate, but if you've ever stayed anywhere else nicer on the strip, you'll notice the difference.
