  • I went here to get a Pandora bracelet for my girlfriend's birthday. We went there together to pick out the bracelet and charms. Anyways, so we went in expecting to receive help in picking out a bracelet and a couple of charms. Perhaps we were expecting too much, because we received little help. They weren't even trying, and acted like taking the charms out from their little box homes was a huge chore. They did not smile or look at us in the eye. Keep in mind that the store was relatively empty, a few people did come in, but they left pretty quickly, not to mention that there were 3 sales reps. The lack of smiles and eye contact isn't much of a big deal. But these girls (girls because 2 different reps helped us, 1 just left the counter without letting us know so another came to fill in) were pretty much torturing the charms and bracelets. Every time she takes off the bracelet from my girlfriend's wrist, either to add charms or try on a different one, she'd let the sterling silver buckle/clasp/whatever it's called drop onto the glass counter. The charms she takes out would be dropped onto the glass counter from a height of about 10 cm. She also drops them down like that back into their little box homes, you can hear the charm hit the other charms when it lands. Either way, around 8:30 (they close at 9:00), one of the girls started to spray and clean the glass counters, including the one next to us. We just found that rude, it could be a standard procedure but the chemical spray bothered us a bit. In the end, we decided a double leather bracelet along with the Smiling charm and a Snake charm, (both because we did not have enough time to decide which to take and they were obviously shooing us away with their demeanor and glass cleaner.) I asked the sales if we could get a new bracelet, she rudely replied with "Okay, so this is brand new. You want to play with this and then leave it for another customer to buy?" I was too afraid to bring up the fact that she was mistreating the bracelet by dropping it onto the glass table...so I just bought the bracelet and charms and figured I wouldn't be bothered by the fact that they were mistreated. She packed our bracelet and charm in a plastic bag with the word "SMALL" on it, and put that into a box that was had sticky yellow stains on it...and that into a Pandora bag, also with sticky yellow stains on it...I honestly thought all Pandora stores were like this. Until I couldn't help but distress over how I paid quite a bit for sterling silver, and it wasn't even treated properly. So a few days later, I went to the Pandora at Scarborough Town Centre to do an exchange on the items. And D*mn...the service there was amazing. The ladies there were all very nice, all smiling, and they treated all the jewelry with care. They neatly and gently placed them into cushioned surfaces, and spent a lot of time explaining the different bracelet sizes to their customers (the Yorkdale location did not even mention anything about sizes). The lady who helped me do the exchange was appalled by my story of how the Yorkdale girls treated my bracelet, and was disgusted with how they packaged it too. She gave me new packaging, and separated the charms from the bracelet into a smaller box... everything suddenly looked so much more presentable. It was also hassle-free. So lesson here is, if you want to buy Pandora stuff, try your best to avoid the Yorkdale location. I learned that all Pandora stores are franchises, and different owners run the store differently.
