I had a business dinner tonight with a group of people who had never eaten at The Mission before and I assured them that they served nothing but absolutely fantastic food. I have been to The Mission in Old Town Scottsdale many times and always get the Chorizo Porchetta dish. Because I enjoy it so much I recommended a few of my guests to join me in getting it this evening. When our main course arrived and I tried to cut into my first bite I was shocked. The pork shoulder was harder than a rock and burnt to a crisp. It was dry and nothing like I have had previous to this experience. I looked at my colleagues who also ordered the Chorizo Porchetta and they too had experience an over cooked, dry, crispy pork shoulder. I felt embarrassed that I made them order a $30 dish to have it come out the way it did. I really hope the Kierland location doesn't lack the quality in the kitchen or I won't return with guests.
