| - I've been a member for 2 years and really can't complain. Yes, they do use high-pressure tactics and try to up-sell you in the beginning, but I've found that to be pretty typical at most gyms. "Just Say No!" and then once you're over that initial hump it's smooth sailing.
In spite of the reputation I've never felt like it's a meat market. Anywhere you go, you're putting yourself on display, but it's nothing like Spring Break in Daytona. People of ALL shapes, sizes, and ages come here so it's quite easy to just blend in and do your thing.
It's open 24 hours during the week and til 8 on the weekends, which works with my schedule. It gets a bit crowded between 4:30 and 6:30 or so, but not so bad that you can't get a good work out. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a cardio machine even at the peak times.
I agree that there should be towels or something around for cleaning off the machines, but then again I've been to gyms where the towels are all dripping wet, so wiping down the machines only seems to make them grosser. I always see workers going around cleaning, which makes me feel a little better. The women's locker room is always clean and never crowded. The staff is not overly friendly but but they seem to know what they're doing. Overall, this place does the job.
