I purchased a Toyota Care Plus Prepaid Maintenance Premium Plan for $725 when I bought my 2016 Tacoma. The sales guy convinced me I'd end up saving a lot of money with oil changes and other services over the next five years. I called and scheduled my first oil change at 6 months, I asked specifically to be scheduled for an oil change and the woman on the phone assured me that was what I was scheduled for.
I went in today and they took my car back immediately. Brett was my technician and was friendly and the waiting room was comfortable (only reason I am giving one star). After an hour I got my truck back and it had been washed but no oil change. Brett said that it was not covered in my $725 plan, only one oil change a year. I told Brett I specifically asked for an oil change when I scheduled my appointment and they told me I was scheduled for one. His reply was that the people scheduling don't really understand that side of things. Not a very good excuse. At my office, if someone can't do there job properly, we train them on how to do their job properly so the customer has a good experience. We don't just say to the customer, well I'm sorry but they don't know what they are doing. Needless to say I left disappointed.
My wife and I went to dinner tonight. When I parked the truck I noticed a lug nut in the middle of the parking lot. I picked it up so no one would hit it and then the thought occurred to me I should look at my truck. Sure enough the lug nut fell right off! I've never even heard of this. I had to get the tire iron out and put it back on in the middle of the 110 degree heat while my wife was waiting in the restaurant. I checked all of the lug nuts because at this point who knows what they did. Sure enough a couple others were also loose.
I'm going to try to get my $725 refunded and find someone else to service my vehicle...
