I ended up buying 3 postcards, which were $1.99 each or 3 for $5. Pretty pricey. I didn't bother pricing any of the turquoise jewelry in the case, which was very pretty. If a postcard is that over priced I can only imagine that everything in the store is similarly overpriced as well.
Indigenous sells a colorful range of Native American artwork, books, photos, and jewelery from Terminal 2 at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Since my nephew is fascinated with anything that has to do with Native Americans, I stopped in here to see if I could find him something maybe for his birthday or Christmas.
I am familiar with the concept of "airport art" and wondered if the items were authentic Native American crafts. I couldn't help but admire the "war bonnets" but I thought that those were from Plains Indians and not a Southwest tradition. So I'm not really sure exactly what a Native American shop is for the most part but I saw the sorts of crafts -- Kachina dolls and beaded items -- that one would expect -- and likely at a premium price.
