  • Kinda a long review sorrry!! I found Sapphire Nails and Spa after doing long, hard research about the best nail places in Vegas. I had never gotten acrylic nails before so I didn't want to make a mistake with my choice and was skeptical of every place I came across. Sapphire was the first spa I came across with no bad reviews. I called to ask questions about prices and the receptionist was so kind and sweet. Sophie was her name. Because of the great reviews and the kindness of Sophie on the phone, I made up my mind I was going to go there. It's very far from my house, it took 45 minutes to get there. But I thought it'd be well worth the travel. Upon arrival I signed in at the front and no longer than a minute later I was walked over to pick my nail color and to a seat to have them done. I believe Jason is the name of the man who did my acrylics. He was very kind and really wanted to make my nails look like the picture I showed him. However, since he knew I'd never gotten acrylics before, I think he kind of slacked on my set. He filed my nails after painting them which rubbed the polish off the sides and tips. I'm not sure if that's something normal when getting acrylics but it didn't make sense to me that you'd file down a nail with fresh, newly coated nail polish. Anyways I showed him the tips afterwards and he just said "it's okay". I thought, wow I have botched nails already. He also had gotten the nail adhesive on my skin which dried between my real nail and my skin and caused me a lot of pain the first day I had them. Also, I asked for glitter on 4 of my nails and he hardly put any glitter, which I had to pay extra for. Anyways, after Jason did my nails I was paying at the counter. The guy who checked me out really liked my nails and told the owner James to come check them out and to take a picture of them. James walked over and lifted my hand to see my nails and kinda nodded his head and said "Yeah they're alright " and walked away. He said it In a way that wasn't convincing or kind at all. I was seriously shocked. I just spent a lot of money at the salon to be insulted by the owner. I mean, he at least could have faked his enthusiasm for the sake of me, the CUSTOMER. After hearing such good reviews of this place I expected a better experience. My nails are pretty and I love them (first set ever so my expectations weren't as high as a regular acrylic-haver would've been) but there are chips and mistakes in them. And still to this day my mom and i are completely shocked over what the owner said in front of us. I know if I was someone who has gotten acrylics regularly in the past, I'd be a lot more disappointed. The inside of the salon is clean and decorated beautifully, and everyone is kind. Those are the only 2 reasons I'm giving this place 2 stars.
