They call it "vibe dining" because they certainly can't call it FINE dining. Not sure what "vibe" they were going for with the Asian heavy theme & weird choice 90's rock playing for the dinner service.
Our story begins with a bubbly & gregarious hostess seating us and chatting about the menu. She informs us that the BEST way to dine is to do things "tapas" style and get lots of small plates. Well... we were here a couple days before for the New Years party and some of the small plate items were served. They were legit un edible. The salmon mousse was like salmon tooth paste! I forced myself to swallow it only because there was no place to spit it out. Any way.. seeing the same items on the menu I wasn't giving those things a second chance. At the time of the party I assumed it was because they went cheap for the New Years party & the actual food from the restaurant would be better. WRONG.
Any way the friendly women in front of us asks for our drink selections and we both decide on the reasonably priced $18 sake flight. She lights up & says "Since you are both ordering one I will be sure to mix it up so you have a chance to taste even more of our sake and a couple higher end ones" This was a statement and not a question. We thought she was being genuinely nice. WRONG. She charged for what we thought was a complimentary up grade making those $18 flights about $64 each.
Now the food. I ordered the Singapore Mei Fun Noodles with no chicken extra shrimp. Did this piss off the kitchen or something? Cause my first complaint is that the shrimp were not all devained and even worst many of the ones that were had the "vain" sticking to the side of it instead. Really not appetizing. I couldn't get man buns attention so I kept cleaning them off and tried to just move past it. I should have kept them to show .... oh well. Then I bite into an onion and it is completely RAW all the red onions in my dish were raw. I like onions but this was terrible to do in a dish like this. It said it came with a sauce, the noodles had flavor but it they were dry ... there was no "sauce" that I could really tell. Basically I have had better Asian noodle dishes at the mall food court.
My boyfriend had the Duck fried rice. He said the duck was dry it might as well have been poorly cooked chicken. There was way to much hard rice to be considered reasonable even for fried rice and the flavor was only remotely enjoyable for a few bites before it just overwhelmed.
We had been to the night club for New Years and one of the reasons we came back is I remembered them saying to show your ticket for 20% off of dinner so I ask about it and the waiter tells me has heard of no such thing but to his credit (the only credit he gets here) went to ask the manager. Turns out I was right but I missed the part about it being for New Years Day only. I felt it was completely reasonable to expect them to just honor it any way but they of course did not offer.
When we get our bill & my BF realizes the BS over charge he also noticed that we haven't seen the girl who sat us for the rest of our meal. She brought out the drinks and left. He was annoyed at this point but the attitude of the wait staff and not being able to confront the girl he decide it isn't worth the fight. We were there on vacation relaxing & he didn't want to ruin it further by getting all worked up so he let it go. To be honest, if I had been the one paying the bill, I would have said something. I didn't know about this part till later & was pretty mad because the whole meal was a disappointment (even the "upgraded sake taste was bad. I didn't want blueberry crap for dinner and literally only one was good) and I would have spoken up.. I turned the other cheek on things like the raw onion just to keep the evening pleasant. Also, I don't think they care. I really don't think they gave a f*ck if we had nice meal. It is Vegas. Plenty of new suckers. They don't NEED repeat customers.
Come here for the night life... maybe... not sure cause I paid for the special event... if the event says "heavily passed hors d'oeuvres" and you think GREAT I'll eat there! Don't count on it being something you WANT to eat. It was all so gross the waitresses serving were literally BEGGING people to take it. Not joking. They looked embarrassed having to serve it. You would see them with the same 10 bites on their tray for like a half hour at a time because people would try ONE and never go back for another. You weren't fooling them twice. The Shrimp was like rubber and was being served cold but was warm... GROSS...
