| - Poor service, poor quality. Here is what happened....
We found a mid century table that we loved. When the salesperson showed us the matching buffet table in the showroom, we noticed the surface had a big nic in it. We were told it was the very last matching buffet table in the entire inventory. We asked for a discount, due to the nic on the surface, and they said they could only discount a %600+ buffet table 10%, so we we said no thanks, and just bought the mid centery table.
The next day, when looking at the Living Spaces website, we found the exact buffet table from the online living spaces site, so we ordered that too. On delivery day we received a call that two of the six chairs we ordered "did not meet inspection" and they would just be delivery four chairs, and the other two chairs would be coming later on a different shipment. So far, so good. However, the delivery was almost two hours later than the window they told us. In addition, the furniture delivery truck was a rented Enterprise truck which seemed weird.
When they brought the table into the house, we noticed it had nics in the veneer at the head of the table. For a brief moment we considered keeping the table, because the nics were minor, but afterall, this was a brand new table we paid full price for. Then, when they put together the buffet table, there were huge, very obvious scratches on the door. So, we declined both pieces and sent them back, but kept the four chairs. We soon decided that if so many pieces (2 buffet tables, 2 chairs and the dining table), all showed damage that we did not want the furniture after all since obviously, it was not made well.
So...now comes the end to an already bad story. We returned the four chairs, but were told we could not get a refund on the other two chairs because "they were on a truck", and someone would give us a refund on those chairs tomorrow. We were also charged TWO delivery fees on the damaged furniture. They acted like they were doing us a favor by refunding one of the delivery fees, and we were told that "they could not do anything about the delivery fee for the internet order. We were told to call customer service." Trouble is, we had tried to call customer service after receiving our damaged furniture and there was a 30 minute hold time, and we gave up. So, after driving across town in traffic, we asked to speak to the manager, to see if he could refund our delivery charge for the damaged furniture we returned. The manager, Ben was at the front door "greeting customers." He did not come and talk to us, but sent a message with the clerk that "we had to call customer service." So...we called customer service from the phone in the store with the help of a kind cashier (I did not get her name). We were on hold for 14 minutes and when someone finally picked up we were told to wait on the phone for the customer service manager. We were then put back on hold another 15 minutes. Finally we were told we would get a refund for the $129 internet delivery fee, but that was after a long conversation about getting the delivery fee refunded. The store manager never came to talk to us, although it was clear he knew what was going on. This place is horrible and I do not usually write reviews, but in a nutshell, they sent us damaged furniture, and expected us to pay the delivery fee. They are delaying refund of the chairs. They could not help us in the store and the only recourse was to wait on hold, on their telephone, in their store, for their "customer service." I recommend you stay away from this store. I am still wondering if I will see my full refund.
