  • Even though I was disappointed, I will give Olives another chance because I didn't get to see the best of it. First, our table - we were not on the patio or by the windows overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. Instead, we were right by the door in a spot open to the shopping mall. So it was almost like eating in a food court. Very bright and very loud. So there goes one star right there. I'm sure that eating on the other side of the restaurant would have been much better. Second, the food - with a little experimentation, I think one could find a pretty fine meal. But that is going to be a pricey experiment. Our meal was hit and miss. I started with the charcuterie board, which was good but no better than you could put together at any high end deli. My entree was the Gnochetti, which was nothing special. My wife started with the lobster bisque, which was definitely second rate. But she like her salmon flatbread well enough. There were other dishes on the menu that sounded interesting, so maybe we just didn't make the right picks. Still, there goes another star. Everything else was pretty good. The service was quick, especially considering that we were with a large group. The drinks were not stingy, and the wine list seemed to please everyone in our group. The bread basket was fresh and tasty. Dinner here is definitely not a bargain, but hey, it's the Bellagio. What do you expect? (By the way, speaking of what you expect, why do none of the restaurant menus on the Bellagio website list any prices? What - if you have to ask, you can't afford it?)
