I actually had a good experience. The second bus from the main rental car area could be a problem for some. I just took an Uber directly to Fox Rent a Car. Getting to the Strip is about the same distance, so I didn't feel bad calling an Uber for a shorter ride. Also, it was faster.
The line at the counter at 10:00 pm at night was the worst part. It was slow. Only two reps there to help. Then, just before I got to the front of the line, two more reps starting working. (Oh well.) It could have been worse, for sure.
Signing the rental agreement was actually super quick. I can attribute this to the fact that I did my homework before. I pre-paid for the full rental and I had the verification endorsement document from my credit card company that I was covered by their insurance (though the rep didn't read the paper I brought with me; maybe simply hearing that I had the document with me was good enough). I also told the rep that I would be declining all additional coverage and then I signed a few things and I was out of there; faster than the two parties who were in front of me in the line!
Getting out of the parking lot took a little time; the inspection was kind of slow, but thorough. Not bad, but slow compared to a lot of other places.
Dropping off the car was super quick. The ride back to the airport wasn't bad as my family and I rode both shuttle buses this time. (Leave yourself some extra time; it's a good amount of distance from Fox to the airport. Even after getting to the airport, it's quite the trek to get to your gate...)
