| - An all-time favorite of ours! My in-laws drive from Peoria to eat here weekly because they are crazy. They did change owners in the last year and portion and quality dipped a bit but has recently redeemed itself again. Portion and taste similar to before but price higher. The price of their combos keeps going up over the years but the value is still justified with noodle combos.
For around $15 you get BOTH a bowl of ramen or udon and an entree. We always choose the tonkotsu ramen with the spicy chirashi. Ramen is nothing special but does the job. The spicy chirashi is their name for the Korean dish "hwe dup bap" which is small chunks of mixed sashimi (usually tuna, salmon, white fish, yellowtail) in salad, subtly sweet egg cubes, and rice all mixed together with sesame oil and spicy sweet sauce. This dish alone is $12-15 at other restaurants without the ramen. The sauce has recently been a lot spicier than usual so beware and add less.
Another favorite of mine is their hamachi Kama combo. It's like a bento box with a giant perfectly grilled hamachi Kama, a tootsie roll, white or fried rice, edamame or salad, miso soup, shrimp and veg tempura, 3 slices of tuna sashimi, and orange slices.
The service is not the best but the great food outweighs that.
