  • TL;DR Stay the hell away from this company - they will take more money from you than you ever expected, and leave you with damaged goods. When I first looked at moving companies, I made the mistake of submitting my information to a site that proceeded to blast my contact information out to a series of low-bidding companies. Elite Moving and Storage was one that responded. Our move originated in Chicago, so I expected that this was the same company as one with the same name located in Illinois. They had middling reviews, and I was quoted $3000 for our goods, so the price was right as well. I wish I had looked up the company based in LAS VEGAS. This company deserves less than 1 star. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau as well. In short: They nearly doubled the price of my move to $5500. They'll show you the space that's allocated for your goods, which is of course way too small. They add numerous hidden fees at pickup and delivery - as others have mentioned, they have a charge for elevator use, stairs use, carrying goods longer than 75 feet, and fees if they have to wait up to an hour. They were not able to accurately predict when my goods would arrive. The driver indicated he would arrive between 7am and 11am, which was then pushed back to 1pm. Due to complications with payment, I delayed the unloading until 2pm, which I was charged for. No refund for the late arrival though. Payment is RIDICULOUSLY restricted. There are more forms acceptable on pickup, but randomly they would NOT take my Chase credit card because they specifically do not work with Chase. On dropoff, they ONLY take cash or money order. I might've been OK with all of the above if my goods arrived undamaged, but they didn't. Boxes were crushed, furniture was damaged, and my motorcycle had various parts broken off of it. I'm hoping the insurance claim process won't be too painful - but if my previous interactions with this company are any indicator, it will be hell. This experience has turned me off to the entire moving industry. They use your move against you to get you to pay out the nose. STAY AWAY!
