  • While the remodeling of the facility is very nice, the staff needs a remodeling as well. My husband was in the ER on Tuesday. I had checked in online and a nurse called me back to obtain information to send to the ER. When she found out the amount of pain my husband was in, she told me to take him now instead of waiting until our 4:45 scheduled arrival time. When we got there, I dropped him off in front of the emergency room doors and I went and parked. When I got inside, my husband was on his knees at the desk (due to pain) and not one of the 5 staff behind the desk acknowledged him. Next was the typical admitting information, brief history, blood pressure, temp etc. Then they gave him a cup to pee in (he could barely walk but, okay) got the task done. Next, we were told to go sit and wait in the lobby area. Next a woman called him in to have his blood drawn. She was very nice and when she was done, she told us to go back to the lobby and have it seat. She stated there wasn't much going on in the back and we should be called back soon. After about 15 minutes, my husband was feeling dizzy and thought he might pass out. I walked to the desk and relayed the information to the staff member who I believe was a PAC? She then told the nurse. The told the PAC that there were no beds ready. Now, this nurse was about 15 feet away from me. Not once did she look at me or speak to me. I got the feeling she was annoyed from her body language. Back to my seat I went and told my husband there wasn't a bed ready. Now my husband is feeling like he is going to throw up. Back to the desk I go to ask for a basin. As I was walking up, "Miss Pleasant Nurse" actually rolled her eyes. I did however manage to get a barf bag from another staff member. Finally, another nurse (who obviously could tell the amount of pain my husband was in) went to the back and personally cleaned a room and changed the linens so he could lay down. Thank you sweet nurse. I didn't get your name, but, you were pregnant so I am sure you know who you are if you are reading this. The nurse who was taking care of my husband in the back was very nice and seemed to be on top of things. He got medication for my husbands pain and an ultrasound was ordered on his gal bladder. Ultrasound gets done. Waiting....Doctor comes in about 45 minutes later and tells him that there were no stones in the gal bladder and he was going to discharge him with pain meds and a referral to see a surgeon. Saw the surgeon today. He had asked if we had an MRI done. No.Nobody ever said anything about an MRI. They just told us to see you asap. Surgeon order an MRI. Guess it should have been done in the ER since we were there and it would have been nice to have the results prior to seeing the surgeon.
