  • DO NOT RENT HERE. Worst U-haul experience I have ever had. I wish I would have read all the bad reviews before choosing this place just because it was close by. I have never had a problem at a u-haul center before, even when it was another company that also rented trucks. This place must be the exception from reading all the reviews. First we were given a truck that was broken and unsafe to use. I had to send a paid worker to return it as I could not leave, they said they would reimburse his wages. Nobody at the local office returned phone calls, and without talking to me they spent about 40 minutes trying to fix the truck and then they canceled the old contract and reissued a new one (I guess with the worker as I didn't sign it or agree to it). Cleaners were coming in the morning so the house items had to be loaded into the truck that night, but with the lost time the movers didn't think they could get that done. So they staged items into the garage - this got it out of the house on time but cost me more time and money to move the items into the garage and then out of the garage into the truck. Corporate said they would take care of everything when the truck (the one I didn't rent) got returned. I had talked to the manager at the new location and they adjusted the bill and I paid for that new truck rental when I dropped it off. When I found multiple charges on my card, I called corporate and they did a formal complaint. Several phone calls and 10 days later, corporate said the manager of the local store had not yet responded (they had 24 hours to respond) and they could do nothing but send yet another email asking the local store to respond to the complaint (this would be their 3rd or 4th email). No phone calls a few days later so I disputed the extra charge. Finally John Graham called and I had to ask several questions before he said he was from this store and the manager (he stumbled saying he was the manager so maybe he was not). The "stories" started there. First he didn't know why he called or what any issues were. When I started to tell him what happened he repeated back different things than what I said and after several times I asked him to read the notes (since he wasn't listening to me and I had already told the same information the multiple times I had called before). He said he didn't like to do that. I said it was bad business practices of not returning phone calls including working with me when the first truck was returned, and not responding to the corporate complaint and his story went from no response to saying he got voice mail to saying he left a bunch of messages. Since my phone number tracks missed calls and voice mail (easy to see the history), I disagreed with him and he said he could show me if I came in but could not send me an email with the phone bill copy, then he could "type something up", I said no it has to be the phone bill, etc. etc. You see how he "deals" with things - just lying with nothing to back him up and arguing about things - he was more interested in that then fixing the issue and never once apologized for giving us a bad truck or taking so long to respond. After 23 minutes, I finally said listen, this is the last thing I will say and then I am ending this call - I told him what I expected and said good-bye and hung up. They actually owe me a lot more than I asked him for (I asked for less than I had to pay out of my pocket because of their problems, let alone all the headache and problems and time spent trying to get him to respond). We will see if he ever responds - oh, and I expect any reply left here to be very humorous and more of his side stepping making stuff up talk).
