| - I popped into this place for a quick lunch, and I feel a little bad giving it 3 stars rather than 4... but honestly, I just can't justify the price of this place.
It serves three main dishes: poutine, mini burgers, and tartare. Weird combination of specialities, but sure!
I had two Buffalo Bill mini burgers and truffle parmesan fries, for the semi-reasonable lunch special price of $18. That's two MINI burgers and fries. For $18.
The mini burgers (of which there are over 30 varieties) seem to be priced mostly between $6 to $16 for one burger, depending on how fancy the ingredients are, and at that point I guess I don't understand why they don't just have normal-sized burgers, because I certainly don't want to splash out on a range of burgs if it's going to cost WAY more to do it that way.
The fries were great, because they were truffle fries. No complaints there. The bison-and-goat cheese burgers were good, and I tend to like smaller portions of things anyway so I was personally glad to not have to eat a whole bison burger, but still - so expensive.
The poutine was also expensive, and while I didn't order it myself, I thought the 17 varieties of $15+ poutines were just far too fancy. I don't know about you, but I love the greasy original poutine for what it is. I don't know many people who are looking to spend nearly $20 for a poutine with feta and a red wine jus. At that point you might as well just eat good fancy food.
