| - Expensive. Mediocre service. Tasty pasta, but poor food and experience overall.
My wife had a pesto pasta with Mahi-Mahi. She thoroughly enjoyed the pasta, but the fish obviously came frozen because, well, it was still frozen when she started eating it. The outside of the fish was fine, but as she made her way to the middle, the fish was frigid and uncooked. We told the waiter, and he immediately took it back. When we got it back, judging by how it was steaming and piping hot without any grill marks, it was obvious to us that they just microwaved it. No discount. They apologized, but microwaving a frozen fish really doesn't add up to $20 entree.
I had a pasta dish that I can't even remember... I remember it being ok, but I think I was too offended by my wife's dish to pay much attention.
The environment was ok. At first sight it seemed nice, but as our eyes adjusted to the darkness it seemed more like a grungy, unkempt dive than a respectable Italian restaurant.
Come for the pasta, if you don't mind paying a lot for a "pretty good" dish. Leave the seafood alone. You're better served getting fresh seafood from other Madison restaurants. I have no problem paying for good food, but I can't justify returning to Tutto. Next time we'll go to Noodles and Company for 1/3 the price and a better meal.
