I gave birth to my son on 3/29/15 at San Martin, and I am so happy I chose this hospital!! I came with a fairly extensive birth plan and it was followed without question. I wanted an unmedicated birth with very little intervention, and the amazing nurses made it happen! I labored with intermittent monitoring and used a squat bar for pushing. The nurses were so encouraging and kept calling me a Rockstar ;) they respectfully addressed questions and suggestions to my husband and doula (as requested) so I could focus on laboring. After my son was born, he was given to me immediately. They delayed clamping the cord and allowed me to deliver the placenta naturally. I was able to hold my beautiful son for hours before newborn procedures were performed, and he never left my side. The nurses maintained a comfortable distance during our stay and responded very quickly when we needed something. There was a lactation consistent available for questions and assistance. Everyone was kind and knowledgable. I felt very well taken care of.
Hospital details:
The rooms are huge! There was a day bed for my husband to sleep on. Food was good (for hospital food). The hospital was very clean and quiet.
I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone giving birth!
