| - Mon Ami Gabi turned a nightmare into a dream.
I planned a very full and expansive trip to Vegas for my woman and I. A room at Paris Las Vegas. Reservations at several restaurants. Couples massage at the spa. Tickets to two shows: a Cirque and Crazy Girls. All of that can go to hell when your plane is delayed two hours, and your 8 pm reservations for dinner at Mon Ami Gabi come along, and you're still in LA!! Didn't make it to the restaurant until 30 minutes or so before closing. Somewhat surprisingly, they seated us and gave excellent, NON-RUSHED service!! I know if I was them, I'd want to get all the damn diners vacated so I could clock out, get home, and get some from my wife. But they let us take our time, enjoy our meal, without any suggestion, verbal or non, of ushering us out. We were second to last table to leave. Not sure what that other table's story was, but their continued presence made me feel a bit less guilty!!
As I stated, our waiter treated us excellently, was nonplussed about the hour, gave a great suggestion on wine: an $80 bottle, which i figure since we're in Vegas, must be the French version of 2 Buck Chuck. Haven't been to Trader Joe's in over a decade and never tasted that particular vintage. I'm sure it's exquisite. The $80 French version sure was!! And our meal was quite succulent as well. Overall, an incredible dining experience: one of the best I've had in Vegas for myriad reasons. Astonishingly, I consider the prices here quite reasonable all things considered.
