  • We have really enjoyed staying here (eight times?) but not all experiences are the same, read further for tips on where to stay.... Specifically, we've stayed in the Carson Tower, the Gold Tower, and the Gold Tower Club Rooms. I have never stayed or seen the Spa or Rush tower rooms. While the Carson tower rooms are just nice basic hotel rooms, their location seems to be the most quiet. There is enough space for two people, easily, and upgrades have been done. You can snag one of these rooms easily. The Gold Tower rooms are a bit more posh and, for these rooms and the Club rooms, how much outside noise depends on where you stay. The upgrades and space in these rooms are very nice. So for any of the above mentioned places, I always ask for rooms NOT on the Fremont St side OR on the Pool side (music late at night will echo off the surrounding buildings and into your room). Do this and you will be much happier if you like your sleep! We've eaten at several of their restaurants--all really good. We've never had any problems in the rooms (except for the noise and we asked to move, learned our lesson, and never did that again). They are upgraded nicely, very decently priced, and very clean and comfortable. Once we had trouble at check in when they had one of our reservations and not another, but admittedly, I had made several changes so I think one accidentally got cancelled. Still, I've walked in two other times to add a nice to an existing reservation or to get another room and they been able to accommodate with just a little wait on my part. Most front desk staff are polite but not overly friendly, but house keeping is helpful and staff in the halls will always say hi. Overall, I think this is probably the best place in Downtown to stay and if we weren't moving to Vegas, we would continue to stay here. I can't speak to their gambling but the people I see on the floor seem to be having a good time. Also, they have a 24 hour Starbucks and are located right on Fremont. Yes, the casino smells like smoke but show me a place in Vegas that doesn't?
