Let me tell you about the worst shopping experience I've ever had.
I bought nasal spray from this store and came back two days later to return it. Normally I am not the type of guy who returns things, but this was a $20 item that did nothing for my blocked-up nose.
The man behind the counter was friendly and tried to help but he needed a manager's approval first. At that time, two managers happened to be walking by. The clerk asked the older female manager about the return and she told him : "He needs to call the company that makes the nasal spray. We don't take returns." She doesn't even look at me, let alone speak to me. I try to point out the receipt in my hand that clearly says "returns within 30 days" but the woman is already walking away even as the clerk and I call out to her! She goes into an office and vanishes.
The clerk calls out to the younger manager with the mohawk and asks her for help. She is too busy texting or checking Facebook or something on her precious cellphone. She ignores him completely even as he calls out her name. I try calling out to her too, saying "Ms.? MS.?" but she is a phone zombie and just wanders away.
A line has formed and neither of these horrible managers even bother to jump on a register. I let the guy behind me buy his stuff and then the clerk starts to cash in my return. He is clearly as mad as I am. He gives me my money and apologizes. I thank him for being the only good employee there.
I go home and call CVS's corporate number. Again, I am not the type of guy to do this kind of thing, but this experience had me fuming with rage. After telling the operator that I would not give her my phone number, email and home address (the nerve!) I told her how great the clerk Charles was and how awful the management was. She tells me she'll pass that info along to the district manager and gives me a robotic apology. That's it.
I'm done with you CVS.
