| - Maybe I came on an off night, but I seriously was NOT blown away by Fez, where as my brother really liked it and wants to come back again soon. I am not as enthusiastic. A great location, we found parking easy enough (even with construction) and I was surprised to see this place really is industrial. Although honestly...I found it felt like a cafeteria. Def. NOT a romantic place, and while our seating was fine, all the other huge groups seemed to be having fun and were totally drunk-but think either large groups of diverse gay males or mixed groups (but def. gay male central which is awesome). My beer was yummy but the food I got was lackluster and kind of...well, gross. I chanced on the shrimp, eggplant and mushroom kibis w/pesto aioli and I lost. It was a deep fried flavourless mess that if a roommate had made, I would have gently broken to them that we should just get take-out that night. We shared sweet potato fries with cinnamon, which at first was cloying but eventually were kind of addictive. Our waiter was sweet, but didn't check up on us so we ended up not getting another drink and the general ambiance I felt was too sterile-not really that warm. Perhaps sitting in front on the patio when it is warmer or brunch may be better, but I might come here for a beer and fries at the bar after the museum if my arm is twisted, but not dying to go back.
