This Building is so true. It's been there, despite it's modern facade for decades. With the beautiful wood floors and brick walls, a rooftop terrace that a city-dweller can only dream of owning, and space to make it your own, this is a very hip space. Toronto has gotten amazingly cool, and the Burroughes is just one example. The fact that it sits atop 'Crazy Corner' where you are bound to see some old-school Queen West &#%^$^ go down only makes it more urban and cool. Even 5 years ago places like this in TO didn't exist. Downside, if you are planning/hosting the event, this is going to require a lot of extra rentals- nothing on site. Upside if you are attending an event- lots of space to mingle with your hundred or so new friends.
