So, we made reservations on Saturday night for 16 people to celebrate a birthday, and were told that we could only choose from a group menu. That I understand!
We had a 21:30 reservation and got our main meal nearly 2 hours later. The service was very slow, the place was packed yet the food was just okay. 3 people ordered the burgers and were disappointed with flavor and size, my husband had the salmon and then the beef tartar and both were very bland. I ordered the seafood platter, the oysters were good, the shrimp were alright but my crab legs had been dipped in some kind of ammonia concoction, they were very pasty and smelled really bad. From my understanding, the food industry will sometimes "bathe" meats or fish when they need to prolong the shelf life and believe me, it didn't smell like anything close to the ocean! Very disappointing on a $45 dish. The men were also disappointed with the portion sizes which could have been acceptable if the flavors would have been accentuated, everything was simply okay but not better. We will not be returning to the Mechant Boeuf!!!
