An absolutely amazing place!! Very cool old world ambience with excellent food. We got there at 11:30 for lunch. It was empty but filled up very quickly. The bartender, Rich was extremely helpful in selecting food and sharing local stories.
We started with stuffed mushrooms topped with five cheeses in a light tomato basil sauce. I followed this up with the tomato basil soup which was very nice with a cream base.
We shared a rigatoni Bolognese. It was served with large tasty meatballs and a tasty chopped salad. The Italian bread - crusty on the outside - came with a very nice olive oil garlic mix.
Everything was absolutely delicious!! We had way too much food, and took some back to our room for the ride home.
I almost forgot to mention their famous peach Bellini's. They are made with a mixture of vodka, Pinot Grigio, peaches, peach schnapps, A peachy syrup and of course champagne. It's sweet for my taste but everyone else would just love it. It is made fresh daily. We will have to try to re-create this without the sweet stuff.
This place was just like going back to eat in Waterbury, Connecticut where they have great Italian food. Made me feel at home. I miss the good southern Italian cooking from Connecticut.
