| - I had a scheduled appointment with Chas Roberts for Monday this week. I was given a window of service between 11-2 pm.They advised me that they would call 30 minutes prior to let me know that they were on their way. I received a call at 1:36 pm letting me know that they were running late and would likely be at my house between 3-4 pm. I advised them that I needed to be somewhere at 6 pm and would be unable to attend an appointment much later than 4 pm. They never showed, never called. I was placed on an "on-call list" for the next day. THEY missed the appointment and instead of giving me an appointment the next day, I was punished and sent to the back of the line for the next day. No new appointment.
Tuesday rolls around. No call. It is now 4:30 pm on Tuesday and still no call. A full 24 HOURS after they said they would be there for the revised window the day before.
Tuesday night. I go to bed at 10:30 pm. House is quite, 3 kids sleeping, 2 dogs sleeping, 1 wife sleeping. My phone rings at 11:39 pm. I groggily reach over to silence my phone, thinking that I must have set an alarm when I last traveled and forgot to turn it off. SIX MINUTES LATER, my doorbell rings. The household is awake. I get nervous, naturally, because only law enforcement or criminals come to your door at 11:45 pm. Criminals don't ring doorbells though, do they? I guess they aren't the smartest this world has to offer. Who knows, maybe this one rings the door bell. I walk to the door and look out the peep hole to see some guy standing there in what appears to be a bowling shirt. I just woke up, don't have my glasses on, so I struggle to read what is printed on the breast of his shirt. I don't know him, it's 11:45 pm, so I don't answer the door. I watch him walk away, shaking his head at my house like we are wrong for not answering the door that late. I then decide to move to the front window to peer through the blinds to see if I can better identify this person. There sits a Chas Roberts van in front of my house! Are you kidding me??! Nobody ever told me that they would come that late. I discovered this morning that they will make house calls as late as midnight. That is crazy!
Am I back on their schedule? No. I'm on call for Thursday now. Again, I never missed an appointment. They did. Now I need to wait until Thursday, cross my fingers until midnight, and hope they make it to my house.
I get that this is a busy time of year. Can you imagine if consumers were as flippant with our end of the agreement? Maybe I pay the bill, maybe I don't. "Hey mortgage company, the money wasn't there this month. Things got expensive, you know, it's that time of year." We can't be though. It's very one-sided with Chas Roberts. Beware. If this wasn't a new unit on a new home with a home warranty that requires me to use Chas Roberts, I wouldn't work with them.
