  • We went for the Saturday $10 special, which was 21+ and they were carding everyone (which was a problem for a couple in our party, but I can understand this I suppose). This includes 3 hours of bowling, but NOT shoes--another $4. We got there around 8:30 (had reserved lanes for 9pm), and sat in the bar. The most unfriendly bartender I have ever met served us. First, she never asked us if we wanted to start a tab, just handed us our first round of drinks and said "that'll be $3.50" (e.g. for my soda). Two of my companions ordered food, and after about 5-10 minutes, it came out of the kitchen, and the cook put it on the edge of the bar. The bartender was serving another patron, so we assumed she would bring over the food when she was done. She proceeded to do anything but, to the point that the food was room temperature by the time my friends elected to REACH OVER THE COUNTER to get their food that had been sitting there for 15+ minutes. Still no comment from the bartender. Also, the bar area was super smoky. Finally, it's just before 9 and we go to get our wristbands. I hadn't realized my friend had prepaid, so I paid (despite giving the "bouncer" the prepaid lane number), but fortunately he gave me my money back. I will give Arsenal this--they have an excellent selection of bowling balls; I was able to find ones with small holes that were more than a child-appropriate weight. We had reserved two lanes, but had piled the party that was already there onto one lane so we could get started without interrupting the game flow. At 9:05, the bouncer comes over telling us that the lane was double-booked and would we take vouchers to give up our lane. We tell him that we have 5 more people coming and can't all go on one lane (the scoring system allows a max of 6). He retorts "well I have people who will give me money for this lane right now," and we remind him that a reservation is a reservation. He goes away and 5 minutes later our other friends show up...parking in L-ville can be time-consuming. He was friendly about it at the end of the night, but his behavior was pretty aggressive and off-putting. I LOVE bowling, but I was pretty bummed out by this experience. I might come back on a cheaper night once I have my own shoes, but if you're not there for the lanes, you'll be let down by the extremely sub-par service.
