  • Horrible!!!! I would choose 0 zero stars if that were an option. If you want to throw tons of $$$$$ down the drain, then go with Culligan. So we had a serviceman come out last January to our new home. He installed a new water softener and changed the filters to the reverse osmosis system in our kitchen... He left, $1,300 later!!!! I thought that was outrageous, but just assumed that was the normal cost for that kind of stuff. So, fast forward to now. I called the company to have the filters changed & our softener was eating up a ridiculous amount of salt. Just to have the guy come out, it's $90; rip off! So he changed all the reverse osmosis filters for $145; I looked up replacement filters online at Amazon, etc and they are $25 a piece. Culligan charges close to $45 plus labor. The guy showed me that he replaced all the tubing and small knobs under the sink because they were 'worn out & old.' I asked him, 'How are they already worn out??' He said, 'Well, probably from the original homeowner years ago.' I told him a Culligan guy came out a year ago and charged us an arm and a leg; why didn't he change them out then? He said, 'I'm not sure, but he should have.' Wtf? Then he checked the water softener and confirmed that one of the pieces that turns the motor was broken. I asked how it was already broken after just a year and if this is common for their products? He said it's a cheap plastic that was used, but now they use a different & better product (yeah, sure). I asked if it was still under warranty; he said no & that we missed it by a month. So, that was an additional $165 for a small plastic piece. It's like they throw out these random numbers and see if we will say yes. So, it cost us over $400 this time around. I told him that I wouldn't be using them again because every time they come out it's an outrageous amount of money. I don't trust their products & I don't trust the quality of employees hired. So, next year, I will be replacing my own filters that will be purchased on Amazon & save a $hit ton of money. I have ZERO trust in the Culligan company!!!!!
