| - I am so bummed I did not make Citizen Public House as my primary special occasion restaurant to go to for my first visit to AZ. As I learn you do not need to be tied to a well known name to be put on the map and later to find out how disappointed you are with the meal & service (cough cough FNB ahem). Anyways, two of my friends mentioned this place and that was enough confirmation that this was going to be a great restaurant. So, I gave it a shot.
Walked in and was seated without RSVP or hassled for not having a RSVP.
Our server was very attentive, very engaging, and social with us and made the dinner experience enjoyable. Most places forget that you need to build relationships with your customers. It is very simple, it is not a secret, just provide excellent customer service. If you can't do that then you're in the wrong business.
So, with that I will def share my experience with yelp, non-yelp friends, and also I will come back next time I visit AZ. If I lived here, of course I will come in as a regular patron.
It is no secret CPH is known for what? Their amazing cracked out chopped salad called the THE ORIGINAL MIXED FEEL GOOD SALAD or for short OMFG! Like OMFG it should be on every menu in America like the Caesar Salad, Cobb Salad, etc. But even better than the traditional boring salads. The smoked salmon is a nice touch.
I have not had crab cakes in a while and CPH has the best, generous, heaping mounds of delicious Chilean crab cakes for you to enjoy. I recently had a really sad crab cake at the Brigantine and yeah it did not compare to CPH's.
The last dish was the Gio Osso burger, the ingredients had me at foie gras aoili, it just sounds criminal smearing duck liver on a beef burger. The savory and rich burger was super delicious.
Did not end the evening with dessert, but I did take home a bag of bacon brittle. YUM!
