| - I'm updating my 5/6/16 review now. Here's why; about fifteen minutes ago, the Sales Manager called me back (he called me yesterday). He spoke to the GM about the situation I've described below. They are cutting me a check to compensate me for the used car interest rate I got from my bank (as opposed to the new car rate I would have gotten if the finance manager had not told us we could modify our Chase loan). I do hope that this has been a learning experience for their finance people. I'm guessing it is!
Sales person, Chris Moore, was very nice. We've now bought our second BMW through him. However, I'm going to give a short version of why I've rated Chapman poorly. We sat down with the finance manager, Lynn Charles. We told her we'd be financing through our bank, Chase. She indicated they have Chase here. We explained that we are Chase Private Clients, and thus get a preferred rate, plus we do auto-pay through our checking account to get a quarter point more off the rate. Lynn said all we had to do was get our loan at the dealership and when the account # was set up, go into the bank and have the paperwork done to get our preferred rate. We went to the bank when we got the acct #, and found out that Chase has NEVER done that! Further, we were now not eligible for a new car loan since the car had been titled under the Chapman Chase loan. So, we took out a used car loan, as it was still better than the loan we initially got. The difference between the rate we got and the new car rate amounts to over $600 in finance charges! I called the General Manager, Matt Dresp and left him a vm about why I was calling. I waited three days for a callback & then we called Chris Moore. Chris stood face to face with Matt and explained why I had called him. It has now been three weeks without a callback. As a result, I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General.
